The gender debate allows for the deconstruction of the historically attributed roles of women and, in this way, allows them to occupy public functions and act in community spaces, to recognize their social and productive importance and to play with greater autonomy the political and religious leadership, Among other spheres of social relation.
Thus, the work carried out by CETRA for the strengthening of rural women workers groups has been developed since the 1980s. There have been several projects to work on women's political protagonism, gender egalitarian relations and sexual freedom over the years. Specifically, it emerged in 2011 through a public call from the Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA) to provide technical assistance and rural extension to 160 women, seeking to strengthen agro-ecological production, marketing processes, economic autonomy and Female protagonism in the rural economy in 14 municipalities of the territory Curu and Aracatiaçu Valleys.
The methodology is participatory, prioritizing the dialogue. The construction of knowledge is based on the valorization of local knowledge based on practical experiences, socio-political participation, educational and organizational processes of rural, quilombola and indigenous mullheres, favoring the improvement of a broad process in which the interests of women and Of their local reality should stand out.
